'03-'05 rear bumper reflector, add light?

I'm sure this has been covered before, however, I was not able to find any threads when I searched. If anyone has any information on adding lights to the rear bumper reflectors of the '03-'05, please let me know! I saw one around town and would really like to know how to get those things to light up. Thanks!

4th gen rear bumper reflector (lighted hilux)

I have been looking an here for quite some time and love all of the great information and write ups everyone takes the time to post, so thank you all! I found these from the gen4 hilux. Not sure if they were on here, but I couldn't find info on the rear fog lamp hilux mod.

I did the running/brake lights in the bumpers, wired to the tail lights, with aftermarket reflectors, light sockets and bulbs I bought on Amazon. $70 for both reflectors, and my local dealer wanted $130 for one reflector. The light sockets and bulbs were about $30, and I bought 14 gauge wire locally.

It was a lot of work, but I’m very happy with the results. There are some very small gaps between the new reflectors and the bumpers that I may caulk in the near future.

120 series Toyota Prados use the same rear bumper reflectors and were available already as rear fog lights, they used T20 (AKA 7440) bulbs.

Aftermarket versions are still available, you can also get them in (aftermarket) clear lens versions if you want to install a switchback (two color) LED bulb.

Ok cool deal. Thanks guys. I'm most likely just going to drill out mine to make the reflectors into fog lights and run a dedicated switch. Hopefully the wire is there in mine for that already, but I'll have to run new ones if not. I'll try to do a write up and take pics when I do it.

Thanks for the Toyota Prados info! I still haven't gotten around to the rear fogs but if they sell them for that cheap I might as well get them instead of the hours of making reflectors into lights! Winter is about here and I loved having there rear fogs in my old volvo that lit up bright so people can see you from a distance in the snow and other bad weather! So thanks again!

As stated previously, Toyota Prado lights do work. I bought and installed the ones in my post.
