03 brakes, NOT DAC

When driving downhill at normal speeds and I apply the brakes (more than just lightly), when I take my foot off the brakes, the brakes continue to hold and will not release until I either (1) accelerate or (2) place the transmission in neutral. Do I have a problem or is this a feature? I cannot find anything about it except DAC which is meant for speeds less than 15 MPH.

That sounds like the grade logic programming in action. If you brake going downhill, the transmission will downshift to give you some engine braking and reduce wear on the pads. It's not actually dragging the brakes, assuming everything's working properly.

Yup, grade logic in action.

My daily commute is up the hill from me. So I hit a lot of hills both ways. This is normal, and the first time Ruffian did this, and still to this day, I think it's totally cool. Except now when ever I'm going down hill, I put it in N and let it coast to ink out that last MPG in the tank! Especially if it's to a red light anyway.
