door panel removal

I'm trying to install a set of speakers in the front doors but can't figure out how to get the panel off. I was doing good until I got to the door handle and lock. What's the trick to getting this apart?

Putting some new speakers in the doors and cant figure out how to get the darn panels off. I was doing good until I got to the door handle assy. Cant get it apart. Anyone?

Pry up under the armrest and it comes up and off. Remove large screw. Pry out piece of plastic just forward of the door handle and remove screw.

There is a thread with pictures of the entire process, try searching for it using the search feature. I didn't have any luck since 90% of the time the search feature is total junk, and misses most threads, but you can always give it a shot.

Yes, there is something wrong with the search feature. The index must need to be rebuilt, because it's only seeing the most recent threads.

Yeah I'm not sure what it is, I just know it doesn't work worth a crap, and I have seen many complaints about it lately. I guess you can no longer look up old threads for reference.

Oops, sorry about that. Posted in the 4th Gen first then saw the audio section.

Great info. I appreciate the help. Speakers are installed and everything snapped back together without breaking anything.

Discovered that the idiots at Best Buy demolished the wiring harnesses for the stock tweets and mids during a previous install. >sigh< I hate BB's car audio department.
