i got the 03 4 runner with the grey plastic modlings, but it's starting to oxidize. what compound should i use to help protect it? i took it into the dealer to try to get them replaced but they said that it's a discountinued product and out of warrenty.

I used Mother's Back to Black on my grey cladding bumpers. It helped to bring out the richness of the color and looks great!
Unless there is somone here who has tried both products and can tell us which one is better?
Thanks

i just bought the maguires.... i'll let you know how that turns out. i saw the mothers back to clack but i thought that would bo fro things that were black only kinda like a stain. i'll try that next. i wanted to use the 303 but i don't see it in stores.

Good luck! :) I thought that too, that back to black was a stain. However, it said, it can work on any colored plastic surface, black or any other color. Let us know how it goes! :)

From the info I've gathered here, 303 is either available online or at boating/marine stores. Auto stores (Kragen, Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) don't carry it.

You could probably order Black mouldings for a 2004-05 or order the mouldings in the color of your Truck to update the look. I did not like the early 03 gray cladding as I was concerned that later down the road it would look weathered. This was my reason for not buying the first year 4th gen 4Runner. Toyota Previas had similar gray cladding and after a few years it starts to look crappy. That's really weird that Toyota discontinued a part that was only 3 years old.
