03 hood same as 06?

I know the headlights and grille changed, and they, look different. But everywhere I look it says that "this hood will fit 03-09"... I want to put a 06 grille and bumper on my 03. I already did the headlights. CHEERS!

Im not sure abut the 06, but the 08 is different!

I took a couple pictures to give you a sense of the slight dfferences that could hinder such a transplant as the one youre thinking of doing:

You can clearly see the differences in the hood's edges that border the top of the grill.

The hood is the same, the grille is just bigger and goes on the outside of the hood on the 06. I was confused about that for a while too

Edit: the 06 fenders are wider so the bumper wouldn't line up unless you get 06 fenders, then they're more rounded so they won't match the rear. Although the do line up.

The other option is to modify the 06 grille by shortening it about an inch

I always wondered about that. Parts sites always list the 4runner hood as 03-09, and the body shop that ordered mine said it was from an 07 but was the same part number as my 05. It obviously fits, so they must all be the same.

Edit-Or he was mistaken about it coming off of an 07.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your help! I went today to the deal and peels back an 07 grille to find the same ting. Same hood! So now to find out if the reinforcement bar is the same, or needed a diff since the front bumper has a substancial drop under the grill on 06 up...
