Just got a used 03 and want to remove the rear armrest cup holder to clean and lube, something got spilled in there, anyone know how to get this all the way out? I got the front tray piece out, just not the cupholding part.
Not sure you want to go through the trouble but here's how to do it:
If you're facing the armrest, on the right side where it attaches the the seat is a small plastic cover. Pull the cover off to reveal a phillips screw. Unscrew the screw and then wiggle/pull the armrest free. Next, locate the zipper at the rear (it's probably tucked into one side of the armrest). Unzip it and then carefully roll the fabric/leather cover off the armrest. Roll it down about halfway and you'll see three screws in the foam of the armrest. Unscrew these. Using the tray of the cup holder, pull the whole cup holder assembly out of the armrest.
Thanks, would have never thought of that way, I had the little white teflon pieces out and looked like two numbs on each side were the hold up, that screw was really torqued down, but will go at it again this weekend.
Well I went at this.....boy that screw was a pain to get out......
Took out the cup holder and cleaned it out....rubbed a little wd40 on the bottom of the tray that slides out with the cup holder......seemed to easy the pop out action of the cup holder.....seems to be good as new..... :bigok:
