03 rnr & sirius with scion HU

I have 03 sport edition and i have swamped out the factory HU for the scion option. as of late i bought the sirius sportster. i love satellite radio but i am tired of the wires and rigging the fm tuner to the right station. that said, i have noticed the "SAT" button on the scion HU. can some tell me what i need to buy to get sirius radio to wired thru the HU. I imagine i need a satellite tuner box that would go behind the dash. I have combed the site looking for a thread but i cant find anything. thx.

Try a Google search for the model number. If that doesn't work you can call a dealership and they should be able to tell you. I would assume it's an add-onn unit like with Pioneer and other aftermarket units. At least then you could hide the receiver in the dash or whatever. Then your Sportster would be useless though...

but what exactly am I searching on Google? I am OK with sidelining my Sportster. In fact, thats my goal. I want the scion HU to control everything. how would I define the part I am looking for?

Google the model number for the head unit and there should be specs for the unit. Then you would have to find the appropriate Sirius unit for the HU. Your best bet would probably be to call the dealer and just ask them the model number of the sat unit though...

PS The direct Sirius unit will also sound better because it will be directly wired to your HU instead of transmitting the signal via FM.
