03 V8..Which trans fluid??

Getting ready to have my buddy flush it and clean the filter. What fluid are you guys using? Do you use a cheaper one for the flush and a better one for the fill? I was looking at using Valvoline max life t4 for the flush and the fill. Maybe maxlife for flush and mobile1 for the fill? Please help me out guys. Oh, and I rarely tow anything, maybe a small pop up once a year.

Do some research before servicing the trans. There is more to it then just a drain and refill. Best bet is to use Toyota World Standard fluid. An improper sevice can lead to trans failure.

+1 What he said ^^^^ use the WS and there is no need to flush and then refill. A flush just pushes the old fluid out while pumping in new fluid.

03 takes t4, not ws(per convo with yota parts guy). my buddy doing it used to work at a yota dealer. just wanted to see what fluid guys with the 03 were using.

If i'm not mistaken the 03 V8 has a 5 spd trans that requires WS fluid same as my 04 V8. I know the 03 V6 had a 4 spd trans and used a different type of fluid and service procedure. I would recommend talking to a Toyota Master Tech to get the most accurate info.

2003 A750f's were filled with Dex Type IV, not WS.

Any 2003 can. IIRC they stopped the cladding mid-2003 cycle.
