Hi guys..pretty new here..but I bought a used 04 runner sport edition in may of 2006 and in the fall, probably october or so I opened the moonroof one day and it didnt want to slide back shut, finally after pulling and such it finally closed but now i'm afraid to open it and since the weather got colder i havent tried nor do i want to for fear of it not closing...it will tilt up and down fine though, just not slide shut once oepend...so what can i do about this? easy fix by toyota dealership? how much might it cost by them? also have noticed within the last few weeks my rear hatch door when i open it it very very slowly rises up to open, it seems like i have to wait a good amount of seconds for it to raise up and finally just bend down underneaht it to reach into the back area, any causes for this? thanks for the help

If still under warranty, take it to the dealership as fixing a moon roof is very very expensive. Numerous people have had problems with their moon roof including myself. It cost almost $1000 to fix and the dealer covered the cost since I was under warranty.
I'm not sure where you live, but if it gets cold in the winter, I've noticed that the rear hatch takes a bit more work to open up. The struts for the hatch are hydraulic so maybe the oil is thicker when cold...

That's not ture. You get a 3year/36k mile warranty that covers the truck except for wear items. I've had my moonroof fixed, sulfur tsb, seat tsb all done under the regular warranty and completely free (except for my time...)
The warranty time period starts ticking after the truck was sold so I ask the dealership what the in service date. That's the date it was sold. 3 years or 36k (whichever comes first) is when your standard warranty ends...
should i have some papers showing the warranty coverage? i was looking..all i can find so far is the 7 yr 100,000 warranty for toyota certified vehicles...the 3 yr should not be up yet because its just been 2 1/2 since first put in use i believe plus way under 36,000..thanks

New or Used, it still has the standard 3yr/36k warranty from in service date...
