04 4Runner tailgate handle?

I want to repaint the assembly with the tailgate handle an the license plate lights. I feel it would be a LOT easier to paint with it off, so could someone help me figure out how to remove it from the tailgate?

lol.....it was meant to be. I was really glad i painted all my trim pieces. They are still holding up great. The key is not to rush it.

Figured that out about an hour ago. Waiting for that drippy mess to dry... Gonna peel it off, and do that tomorrow.

When you spray the paint do very light coats. It will help it dry better. Also make sure it isn't too cold. Spray paint doesn't do well if it is below 55°. Hope that helps.
