'04 4Runner towing '95 Integra

I'm planning on towing my ca '95 Integra with my '04 4Runner SR5 Sports 4WD (v6) from CT to GA using a tow bar.

I did some research and it looks like I'll need the following items:
- Tow bar
- *Aux Brake
- Lights (Brake and Signals)
- safety chain

If you have any experience with this setup or know where I can get these for a good price please leave a message.

I would suggest a dolly. To flat tow the Acura you'd have to come up with attachment points and if it's an auto trans you'd have to rig a pump or leave the Acura idling in 'N'. I am not even sure leaving it running would protect the trans adequately. Some standard shifts can be damaged by extended flat-towing. I would study/search some RV forums. The motorhome guys are all up on what and how to flat tow.


The Acura is light enough that, with a dolly, the T4R should tow it fine, you'll be well under 5000lbs (unless you're moving your cache of gold bars to Ga in the Acura ). The dolly will have brakes and lights. In all likelihood the dolly will have surge brakes which means you won't have to hook-up an electric brake controller.

Look for a used one, buy it, make sure it's safe and tehn sell the dolly when you get to Ga. Notice I suggested that before I suggested U-Haul, U-Haul does have them... http://www.uhaul.com/guide/index.aspx?equipment=towing-towdolly
