'04 air suspenion issue

Hi all,

I have an on going issue with the rear self leveling suspension on our 4runner. The system works fine but it seems out of adjustment in that the low setting is what should be neutral, neutral is high and high is extra high. The system works fine otherwise so I was wondering if anyone might have a method of "resetting" the air suspension? I have searched up and down the web but haven't found much of anything.

So after all that I pulled the sensors and one was totaly rusted out. I seriously considered going the aftermarket route but this truck is a daily driver for my wife and child so I replaced the hooped sensor. At least I saved the labor by doing it myself.

The system works fine again but I'm certain it is only a matter of time until the other side's sensor needs to be replaced. They are not sealed well at all so it is clear that grime, etc can breach the seals.

For a while now I have noticed that once in a while the suspension remains higher than it should. The manual says that sometimes it takes a while to level out depending on various conditions. But a lot of times mine will seem to be in "High" mode when I park the car (when I haven't been using it and the indicator on the IP says it's at Normal) and will even remain that way when I come back to it in the morning. I haven't been able to identify any pattern for when this occurs. Could this be an issue with the sensors as you found?

This is never something I worried about but now I'm starting to get paranoid because today when I went over a couple speed bumps (which I drive over every day), there was an unusual sound from the back end. It almost sounded as though the back was sort of slamming down onto something.

That is exactly the same issue as I had. One new sensor and all is good until the other side decides it wants to go out. You can try and cycle the system but after all the fiddling around I did there was really only one cure.

Would you mind telling me a little more about how to cycle the system? I'm certainly not an expert so I'm not really sure what that involves.

Also, how much did the sensors cost you. I will certainly be having this done by the dealer, but I was just looking for how much the parts would run me.
