So i finally picked up one of those scion hu's to replace the factory hu in my 04 4runner...here's my question for all the audio & wiring freaks who know's what they are doing (because i don't)
My question is...Is there any easy way i can wire my Toyota OEM stereo into a Nissan (actually my wife's 2000 Xterra V6 SE). Just thought i would ask. her stereo is crap and i'm trying to be frugal and reusing the old hu from my 4runner....any help would be nice...thanks

The dealer sells a "theft repair" kit that includes the vehicle harnes plugs --- this would allow plug in. I bought one for an older model and it was like $35. Does it fit the Nissan opening?

Thanks for the tip...I'll check out that kit w/ the harness next trip to the parts department. I'm in no rush to get this done, things are busy lately @ work. but eventually i'll get some time, hopefully...but yeah it fits in her Xterra I haven't actually tried to bolt it down yet, i'm sure i'll have to do a little j-rigging but we'll see...it was just an idea that popped in my head....thanks again for the reply

I would suggest selling the factory HU to someone (even a junkyard or on ebay...just to get the $$ back).

And i would get an aftermarket stereo, you can get a decent one for like 120-130 that will do the basic funtions that a facotry HU would do..
And you will get a better sound quality.

Also, you wont need to worry about the fit issue, since its just a matter of a dash kit/harness...
