04 Rear Spoiler

I have a question about the rear spoiler and the CHMSL. As part of the deal I struck with the dealer when purchasing my 4Runner I had them install the factory spoiler on the rear of my SR5. Now I have a CHMSL on the spoiler and on the lift gate. I haven't checked to see if the lift gate light still works but I would think its pretty useless (since its blocked). Do they come from the factory like this too? or is their a block off plate where the liftgate CHMSL would normally be?

It is recessed in that area but it is not a knock-out plate. If I was to take my spoiler off I would have to cut this area out to fit the CHMSL.

Asxsuming the 2004 model to be the same as my 2003 model, there is no stop light on the tailgate. You can see the indentation where the hole would be stamped, but one was not made.

Interesting, sounds like they use two differnet tailgates then (one punched and one not). Guess my useless CHMSL stays!

I did check my spoiler earlier tonight and the dealer did disable the CHMSL on the tailgate so only the one on the spoiler lights up.

Yeah same here. When i had it installed (i was helping the guy out) he said i had no choice but to allow only the spoiler to light up.

Thats all I'd want to light up anyway. I guess they unplug the liftgate light and plug in the spoiler.
