04 T4rs

Hello from Pittsburgh. Going to pick up a white 04 T4RS 4x4 w 55k mi on it tomorrow. This forum has been good as a presale reference so far. Don't plan on doing much besides floor/rear liners, replacing the cracked right tail light and doing something with the peeling wheels. Just wanted to say 'hi'.

Welcome. Glad to see another owner join up.

Looks nice and clean. Is only the tail light cracked or was there other damage that got repaired? I've got different wheels but haven't read much on the forum about peeling. Maybe others can chime in about this.

ps. Hang onto your wallet when you get the modding bug.

congrats on your new 4runner you'll love it. i live in cranberry and reconize wrights in wexford. how were they to deal with?

Hey thanks. The R light is cracked and theres a small dent on the left hatch pillar. $50-$60 on ebay? No biggie.
I'll just have to scuff and spray the wheels. They are in pretty bad shape. Plus I have no idea how the TPMS is worked in to the wheels.

Thanks. They're no pressure sales people but GM shop none the less. They weren't experts on it.

Well how much did you pay?
I bought a 04 V8 Sport out of Lexington KY with 60,000 miles on it for about 13,600 with a full tank of gas and the upohlstery detailed. I bought it a month ago. Oil was changed every 3000-3500 miles at a Toyota dealership. No accidents or paint work. I think I did pretty good.

that's pretty good. Not sure if the V8 had anything to do with lower price? Plus totally different geographic location...? I was sure to go with the V6 instead of the V8 for DD'ing. I made them send it back for full detail as well.

Can anything be done about slight surface rust on the undercarriage? I know all trucks get it, esp. in PA but if I can spray some anti corrosive paint on there to at least slow it down that would be great.

Just for further reference, I bought a one-owner, private sale, 4x4 V8 Limited with electronic goodies added to it with 65K miles for $15,500 in Socal back in late August.

I would never go with the V6. The V8 is torquier, smoother, period. Gas expense difference can be indistinguishable by going for a short latte v. grande at your local sbux. :D

it's good that i've read this, because i was just looking at a 2003 sport 4wd V6, 77k, for $14,000.

I think you both did well on paying what you did. i bought an 03 v8 limited with around 85000 miles for $14,150 otd. plus a full tank of gas. or atlest 50 bucks worth because we didnt finish the deal until really late and everything was locked up. engine choice really didnt matter to me as it may have to others. oh i almost forgot, congrats on the new ride. ive always loved white 4runners!

04 sr5 with 50k for 17,000

do sr5's usually come with leather and sunroof? cause mine did, but i think that last owner might have had them put in. not sure.

I feel really good about what I paid because up in Seattle where the economy is generally stronger than other areas of the States plus weather, 4x4s are about 8-10% more here.

I was super happy to find it here on the forum. I bought from an enthusiast.

I concur with Benjamin - Seattle seems to fetch a slight premium for good 4Runners. I bought mine in May before the gas crunch, and got an '04 SR5 V8 AWD with 63k miles on it for $15k.
