04 water pump pulley parallel misalignment

Hi everyone. New to this forum, and wonder if someone might be able to give me some advice on this : i recently bought this 04 sr5 sport 4runner. Pretty sure previous owner replaced the water pump and it seems the pulley on the water pump is out of parallel alignment with the other pulleys.. Enough that a whole edge of the serpentine belt sheared off shortly after i bought it, due to riding on the edge of that pulley!

To adjust this pulley outward (toward the rad) to align it before replacing the drivebelt what is the best approach? Any easy way to do this?

Many thanks! And sorry if this seems like a silly question i have not had to deal with this particular problem before and found not much via search.

Before you go shimming the pulley, try installing a new belt first. It is easy to miss-install the belt on the water pump pulley and have it ride on the edge of the pulley and cause the belt damage you are showing. The v-grooves will keep the belt from riding where it is supposed to be, and cause the end of the belt to sheer off. It may very well be that is all that was wrong to begin with.
