05' 4runner V8 4x4 VSC

I've searched the web high and low and haven't found what I'm looking for.
Sorry if I missed it somewhere..
I'm looking to buy an 05' 4runner w/ the V8 and 4x4. How does the VSC affect the vehicle in mud? Can it be turned off? I read somewhere it cannot but don't know if that's right. Please let me know.
I won't be ragging this thing out, and mostly will be driven on the road, but during duck season and going to my cabin I don't like the idea of not being able to spin the tires when I need to.

Well, for my second post here, looks like I found my answer on another site...It would appear you cannot over ride the system. Locking center diff helps, wheel spin is still limited by trac control?? Can anyone confirm this?
So if I'm in the muck and need to use that 4.7 to get out, I'm crap out of luck? Sounds like I may need to look at a tundra!

When I've floored it in mud, the tuck lets me rev it all the way up (when center diff is locked). I don't think you will have any issues!

Not sure what years/trims it is applicable to, but there are several writeups on this site for the VSC off mod. You can rig up something to disable the system. Also, I know on my 4runner (2003) when you lock the center diff it turns off the vsc so you are not limited to wheel spin.

Locking the diff turns off the VSC. ATRAC will still function to limit spin across the open front and rear diffs. You will be able to spin the tires sufficiently to keep momentum or clear the treads on a mud terrain tire.
