05 4runner V8 vs 05 Tundra/Seqouia V8

Why r the ratings different for 05 4runner V8 (270hp/330tq) vs 05 Tundra/Seqouia V8 (282hp/325tq)??? it is the exact same engine right? did they tune the engine for more torque (at the lost of hp)? I find funny cause the 4.0 V6 is rated the same across all the platforms.

Probably different ECU mappings. I also think (have not confirmed this) that the 4R has less space for the exhaust headers, so it might be more restrictive than on the seqouia. The V8 is 90 degress vs 60 for the V6, which makes packaging more difficult.

For sure, exhaust and a slightly different flash on the ECU would easily (and probably does) explain the difference. The 2003-2004 Runners had slightly less hp than Tundras/Sequoias as well, but you'd never tell by driving them, so I wouldn't worry about it.
