I have an 05 with a lift gate problem. The lock will not engage. It pulls the gate in but does not lock. I can simply lift the gate open at any time. I've tried lubing it but no luck. Any ideas? Anyone had this problem?

I remember one member who had this problem. He found that the drain holes at the bottom of the door were plugged with mud and the fix was to open the holes and flush out the accumulated mud.

I checked the drain holes and they're fine. I believe the problem to be with the locking mechanism itself. It does pull the door in but just won't lock. Anybody else have any ideas?
