Guys and gals, I need your input on tires. I have a 05 lifted with revtek spacers with the fenders trimmed and was debating on getting a set of 295's. Im stuck between the Nitto Trail Grappers or a set of Toyo MT's and just not sure about the 295's fitting properly with such a small lift. I an running a set of Pro-Comp Extreme MT's and had no issues on rubbing. Will the 295's make that big of a difference? I cant seem to find a definative answer on the web.

A 295 won't fit. My brother has that lift and a 1.5" body lift and still rubs with 285/75/17 Cooper SST's and a 2 1/2 backspaced wheel... and LOTS Of cutting. It's fine, but does rub on the body mount and full lock. It's really the width of the tire that does it.

It will also be a complete dog without regearing.
Ive kinna lead into that conclusion. I really wanted to put on the Nitto Grapplers, so I guess its back to the drawing board. The other option is to roll the fender portion of the front fender. The rear portion of the front fender seems fine with the flaps taken off, its the front that kills my option of putting on 295's.

I decided to stick with LT285/70R17's and found a great deal on KM2's so I did not go with the Nitto's.
I am in process or a conversion which will also include re-gearing both my old rear diff and the new front diff with 4:56 gearing but I doubt I will go with a larger tire.
To put the LT295/70R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers, you will need more then just a spacer lift

I'm telling you from experience you need at least 4.5" lift (preferably 5) and lots of cutting up front. The lift you have with a 1.5 body lift will still need lots of cutting and barely clear the tires.
