05 or 06 T4R?

Hi everyone,
I've been visiting this forum for the last few weeks before finally becoming a member.
I would like to purchase a T4R, but I'm torn between either going with a leftover 05 or waiting for the 06 model year. With the 05 I'll save a bundle (invoice - $1500.00 or special loan terms). On the other hand with the 06 I'll get all the new extra features (plus the refreshed new look) that I think are good to have. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to get a dealer invoice on an 06.
Do you think it is worth waiting for the 06s in the hope that Toyota will offer similar incentives as it did for the 05 model year? Can anyone recall what types of incentives Toyota offered throughout the year in 05? BTW, I'm located in suburban Philadelphia in case it makes a difference in the type of incentives that Toyota offers. Also, I'm interested in the Limited V8 w/ navi.

Thanks

Welcome to the board! If money is not too much of an issue, I would definitely wait for the 2006. Since you are going for a fully loaded Limited, there will be a few changes that you might find important. The 2006 navigation will be voice activated, bluetooth compatible, and have a built in 6-cd changer. The 2006 Limited's will come with standard memory seats and 18'' rims to start naming a few. When I got my 2005 Limited V8 with nav back in June, there was a $1,500 rebate. When my parents purchased their 2005 Limited V8 with nav back in December, I think there was a $800 rebate. My opinion is to go with the newest product out there. What you save on the 2005 could possibly be lost when you go to sell it. You are buying a "one model year old" car.

I would wait. Memory seats are worth the difference in cash! The slightly higher resale value of your '06 will more than make up for the rebate difference.

You could always wait until the end of next year to get the same rebate on an '06 model!:p

voice activated navigation and bluetooth are two features I found in Luxury Lexus LS 430. Worth the waiting, my opinion

That's exactly what scares me. I don't think I can wait a full year. Hopefully, Toyota will have some reasonable incentives by December. Otherwise, I'll have to pay full price (at least I hope I can get dealer invoice).

I might wait. With gas going up the way it is, they may have to come down more to get people to take them. I've actually been thinking of buying because of that very same reason.
