05 SE headlights question

I have a 05 SE. Not sure if this is a problem but if I leave the headlights on and turn the truck off and get out, there is no warning noise to tell you the lights are on. Is this by default? I thought any car these days had this warning. I thought maybe they would turn themselves off but I waited 2 or 3 min and nothing happened. Any thoughts ??

According to the 06 Owners Manual, there is no warning sound.
The lights should turn off on their own after 30 seconds if the key is in the off position and all doors are closed. If the driver's door is open, they'll stay on for up to 30 minutes.
You can force them to go off immediately by pressing the lock button twice on the wireless remote control.

Yep --- the 05 has no warning buzzer. It suprised the heck at out me when I first got my runner. What kinda vehicle doesn't have a warning buzzer? Well -- turns out the lights turn off automatically (or will turn off with the remote if you hit the "lock" button twice when locking your doors ....). It ends up working nicely --- because I never have to touch the headlight control now. I just leave it on all the time (I like to drive with my headlights on at all times ...).

If you don't press the lock button twice to turn them off manually, how long should it take for them turn off automatically. I waited for about 5 mins and nothing happened. thanks.

I think usually 30 seconds. I think it also depends on whether or not you touch the controls for the lights again. If you were to park your car with the lights off ... then turn the lights on, get out, and then try to wait for it --- they will stay on. If you were driving with your lights on, park, get out, and walk away --- they should turn off in about 30 seconds.

Is this with the lights in the "auto" switch setting or in the "on" switch setting where the lights will turn off by pressing the lock button twice?

Thanks,
David

I don't have the auto setting in mine so I leave them in the on position they will turn off by pushing the remote twice or they go off by themselves in 30 seconds.

thanks. i might have a problem then. I waited for abt 2 or 3 mins and mine didn't turn off by themselves in 30 secs.
