05 sport silver-painted bumper accents

A feature for the 05 sport is silver-painted bumper accents. Does anyone have a picture or can explain what this looks like?

I was just curious, the local dealer should have a 05 sport in next month.

Also I am not sure if I should wait to buy for a 05 to get a better price. Maybe year end incentives or inventory tax March 1st.
(state of Indiana has inventory tax where the state charges for cars on the lot)

As far as I know that's not a new feature. Check out my signature to see what the silver painted accents are. It's the accent right below the front lower grill and in the rear it's the one between the rear reflectors.
 
Yeah it's not a really new feature. The 2k3&4 4Runners came with them, all models did. The only exception where the gold ones.

For some reason, for the 2K5 only the Sport models come with the bumpers like that. Plus the Sport also comes with silver roof racks while the SR5 and Limited come with Black ones.

Really? I never noticed that... I thought the only color that did not come with them were the silver 4Runners. And only because they blended in with the rest of the paint...
 
I looked thru all 14 pages of the thread and I didn't see any gold 4Runners. Actually, there might be one there, but the pics were really small and it was hard to tell what color I was looking at....
 
I know this a super old thread but does anyone happen to know the part no. for the rear center piece but in white? I currently have the silver but want it color matched. Thanks in advance.

In white? I don't think you can get it in white. Just have a body shop paint yours.

My guess is that you actually saw silver and just thought it was white. The silver is quite light and it would be easy to confuse it for white.

Unless you just happened to see more than one 4Runner where the owner had it painted white. Or you were looking at different years of 4Runners. I know that not all '03 to '05 4Runners came with the silver insets on the front and rear bumpers.

I'm pretty sure it was white. There is a big difference between the two.

Okay, just call your local Toyota dealer and ask them if you can get the part in white. Then call your body shop and make an appointment to have yours painted.:trophy:
