05 SR5 4x4 TIRES!

Hey, I know there are probably a billion threads started about this lil' question but I can not for the life of me figure out what kind to get!

I have 17 inch rims... I was told to get "Toyo A/T 265/70/17" I don't know if there was anything else special about them. OH!#@ I do not want sissy tires.. they have to be kinda chunky or they will just not be what I'm looking for! I don't want an over-sized Camry tire.

I don't think there's a "best of the best" tire ever. Everyone has their own likes, decisions, budgets, and how they're gonna use the tire for (i.e. off-roading, commuter, mud, snow & winter, etc.). I have two sets of rims (1 for spring/summer/fall and 1 for winter). I use these for the spring/summer/fall:

This is just me and these fit my needs.

You have 16" wheels - 265/70/16 ... unless you changed out your wheels.

I'm basing this on the pictures from March's Sacramento Meet.

You can upsize to 265/75/16 w/ no modification.

Not unless you have different wheels than stock. For a "chunky" tire, as you called it (lol), I would recommend looking into BFG AT KO's or Nittos. I have heard decent things about Toyo's too, however, I would be very wary of advice coming from someone who can't even look up the information on your vehicle correctly.

You may have 17 in rims I have an SR5 with 17 because it had the upgraded package I used to run 265 70 17 nitto terra grapplers but now I run 255 75 17 bfg mud terrians

Correct me if i am wrong, but Nitto Terra Grappler and Toyo A/Ts are very similar...in fact, they are from the same company with different names! I think that the only difference between the two is the slightly different tread design.

My recommendation...if BFG AT KO does not do it for the original poster, then i recommend mud-terrains.

You are very correct I actually considered the toyos but the nittos are slightly more aggresive then the toyos. I had bfg all terrians as well and I personally think the nittos are better for an at tire but that discusion led to world war 3 on the yota tech fourm actually 8 pages of war lol but now I have bfg mud terrain and they are awesome but in my opinion any tire is better then what the 4runner comes with stock

Yes, considering Toyo owns Nitto, I would assume that they would be very similar. My vote still goes to the Nitto's over the Toyo's though.
