05 Tacoma Skid Plate

I noticed that the new 05 Tacoma has a more beefy looking front skid plate accessory. I wonder if there is a way to modify this for a 4R? It's hard to tell how it mounts based on the web pics.

As long as you are just wanting it for looks, you can do what I did and not use any brackets - just drill wholes in the skid plate and attach it to the bottom of the bumper. On mine, I used the existing wholes and screws that are holding the cladding to the bumber. Bolts right up and looks good......I have had several compliments.

The 05 Tacoma has a new skid plate. Is this the one you've used, or the older one? Here's a link to the Carson toyota site. The skidplate for the 05 Tacoma looks a bit more substantial than the little one used on the older models just for show.

While bigger than the previous gen skidplates the '05 version is still just for looks as my friend has it on his new Tacoma. I personally prefer the previous version for looks.

Hmmm....That one is a different. Not sure how to make it work.
Mine is the old one...just for looks. I only paid $20 for it so it was worth it.
