05 Updates/Mods done

So I purchased this beast in November (Day before Thanksgiving) and already put 3,600 miles on her! LOVE IT!!

Here are a few mods/updates I've done - give me some more Ideas cause I love working on her!

1. K&N Oil & Air Filters
2. Blacked Wheels, Grill, Head Lights and tailgate above license plate with Plastidip
3. T4R.org decals
4. Rear Reverse and Full-time flood lights

Next on my list not done yet -

1. Dual Battery
2. 2000w inverter (I tailgate a lot and run a catering business so need power in the truck. Don't judge me.)
3. Pioneer f700bt Nav w/ back up camera (purchased, not yet installed.)
4. Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer/leveling

Looks good, what reverse lights did you use above the hitch? I have been thinking about doing that.

I just picked up some general trailer floods at Harbor freight to see if I could get them in there - I'll be picking up some new ones next month that are better quality - they are super bright and it's awesome - I put a switch in the rear of the vehicle as well to be able to shine without key in ignition - they are also wired direct to each reverse light so all four lights come on during reverse and with switch. Extremely easy install - hardest was figuring out mounts and brackets for lights. I ended up picking up some hobby metal with pre drilled holes for easy bending (still had to widen holes a bit - but works great)

Can you take a couple pics of how/where you mounted. I have been tossing this idea back and forth. I was origianlly gonig to mount lights on my roof rack, but decided not to. I like where you mounted your's very interested in a bit more information. Thanks Matt

Looks good so far! Good luck with the BBQ biz. I have an 05 and I'd recommend doing the DDM HIDs for your fogs if you've got the funds. Super easy to do and very easy to install (plug n play) and I'm very happy with mine so far. I've had em on for 3 months now with no issues.

Did you buy black headlights or paint them? Everything looks great tho!

Head light were coated with Plastidip - It was very easy - once you get the housing unit apart - both headlights from removal to re-install was about 1 hour 45 minutes

I'll take some photos of the flood light install and post shortly - advantage #347 of working from home!

There is two brackets that are bolted to the frame that hold the center of the rear bumper on either side of the hitch.

I used the hobby brackets from each of those - crudely bending them out a bit - I have sturdier steel pieces but haven't made them to fit yet.

Each flood is wired to the respective reverse light vampired into the red/yellow wire in the taillight cluster and individually grounded. Removing the taillight will let you feed the wire down through the bumper.

right rear power is then strung to left and all the way to switch in rear of the vehicle. then to battery (+positive) terminal. - to install switch I removed drivers rear trim bottom half and removed cargo net clip - drilling out for a bigger hole and install an auto switch I picked up at radio shack because the toggle that came with the lights was too bulky.
