05 v6 sr5 transmission fill

I have an 05 v6 sr5 4x4 with the seal transmission and am doing a radiator replacement. Since the the trans cooler runs throught the rad and I have to disconnect the cooler lines. I will need to add some ws trans fluid. Can I just add some fulid until it flows out of the overflow plug or do I need to follow the procedure as shown here
