05 v8 limited lift

Just bought an 05 limited looking for about 2-3of lift. Would like to do real suspension system lift not just spacers but can't afford to drop a grand or more on full ome kit. Suggestions? Found I can get lift springs but then do I need to get new struts? First time 4runner owner please help

I'd suggest to start off on the right foot here that you do a little reading on your own. If you would have read all the sticky threads at the top of the forum page you would have found this:

Do some searching and reading and then ask your specific questions. These types of threads pop up daily and it's usually because someone didn't take the time to do some basic reading first.

Well I've been reading and I know people love the ome and toytech kits but I figured I'd buy the springs I just wasn't sure what to in terms of the struts.. I know I'll need longer shocks right? But what about struts and what shocks are recommended

like chitown already mentioned, all of these questions are answered in great detail in the stickies- those guys put a lot of time in consolidating all of that info for our convenience

*but i'll start you off in the right direction- according to many, the best bang for your buck is gonna be bilstein 5100 (fronts are height adjustable) shocks w used fj 4x4 springs (or moog)- all can be had for much less than 1g

Are they a ***** to remove? I do like that they light up but they make it look lower
