06 4runner caliper leakage. please help.

Hello all, I'm sorry for not following the rules of the forum but right now I'm desperate so help would be much appreciated. I changed both front pads for a friend and unwittingly took off the caliper just to replace the pads. Yes i know, a foolish thing to do. So after I took of the calipers, replaced the pads, put everything back together, lined everything up, and put more brake fluid and bled the brakes. Everything seemed ok but two weeks later, the brake fluid leaks out the lining of the caliper. I read that I might have messed up the o ring. But I'm not sure. I would like help as soon as possible so I can remedy this problem. If possible id like to change the o rings but not buy new calipers. Basiclly I want to fix the problem without the problem rresurfacing again. Any tips and step by step procedures would greatly be appreciated.

This is just me, but id go ahead and get a new caliper to be on the safe side, Advance Auto Parts has them for $84.79 with a $50 core charge. So theoretically you can get a new caliper for 35 bucks.

I did the same thing on accident before. I'd take it back apart and verify the o-ring is exactly where it needs to be. I'd say the o-ring isn't positioned correctly.

I'm going to try to see if the o rings are positioned right. Hopefully thats the case and i really do appreciate the help. If all else fails. What else could be the problem?

you can purchase the rebuild kit for cheap (o rings and dust shields)
