06 4Runner info on toyota.com

For those who have been patiently waiting... www.toyota.com has the '06 4Runner info posted.

still not a lot of pics yet though...

I'm not sure if this has be addressed already in another thread, but it looks like the '06 4Runners have lost some horsepower and torque. From my recollection

2005: V6 - 245 hp, 282 lb-ft --- V8 - 270 hp, 320 lb-ft

The Toyota site shows:

2006: V6 - 236 hp, 266 lb-ft --- V8 - 260 hp, 306 lb-ft

I do think someone posted about this, apparently they figure HP a different way.
Someone who knows more may post.

New SAE criteria for measuring HP and Torque. Different ways of measuring HP/Torque. It's the same engine.

Also if anyone didn't notice, the Lexus GX470 only lost 7hp using the new SAE rating. For 2006 its now rated at 263hp and 323lb/ft from the previous 270hp and 330lb/ft from 2005 (which was the same for the 05 4Runner). I get the feeling Toyota did some tuning tweaks to further differentiate between the GX470 and it's sibling the 4Runner. Oh well....I guess you have to pay more to get more

GX470 brochure footnote #2 explains : HP and Torque ratings achieved with premium fuel and performance will decrease if lower octane is used.
