I have a 06 4runner and want to disable the traction control. When in deep snow you get stuck even in low gear with the diff lock button enabled. Any solutions to my problem.

I think the FJ has a button you can press and will disable all the traction control and stability controls. This is what i need.

The clicking and banging you hear when the center diff is locked is actually helping in most cases, it's the ATRAC. The ATRAC provides limited slip functionality (right vs left power distribution) with no power robbing throttle intervention.

Are you sure the diff is fully locked (no flashing lights)? Again, when the diff is locked the engine should have full power available. There will be some power loss as you apply power and the brake on the spinning wheel grips but you should be able to overpower it with throttle.

This is a good read on the ATRAC Understanding & Using ATRAC II+

If you decide you want to defeat ATRAC and all pulling the plug pictured below and/or adding a switch will defeat VSC and ATRAC. If you want to be able to defeat just VSC click the link in my sig.
