'06 grill on an '05???

i apologize in advance if this has been discussed in another thread but my search has not yielded any answers.
Does the 06 grill fit on the 05's? simple swap? I was roaming around in the "pimp zone" section and noticed a vid of some JDM runners and one of them looked like an 05 (based on bumper and headlights) but it had an 06 grill!

Probably not, since the 2006+ grille cuts into the lower corner of the headlight. You might need the headlights and lower trim bezel as well come complete the swap.

i was trying to analyze the 4runner in the JDM video in the pimp zone section and they had 05 headlights (blacked out though). I will look into this!

unfortunately, you cannot. in addition to what uneek posted, the 06 also has an indent on the front bumper to accommodate the new grill

the indent I realize...but that part can be shaved off IMO if we are talking about the bottom corners of the grille. What I'm mostly worried about would be the overall "shape" and angle based on the hood...Minor modifications could be understandable..I just dont see how the JDM 4runner in the vid has it done..it must be possible somehow without having to get the 06 headlights. I think the 06 grille with the lowerer front 05 bumper would look very aggressive.
