06 Headlight Lens odd oxidation on tops?

I've searched and didnt find anything specific to my problem so I'll ask about it here.

My 06, I've recenly noticed, has an odd oxidation looking pattern only on the tops of the lenses along the hood, running paralel to the edge of the hood, and extend from the hood forward about two inches or so. I first noticed it on my driver side lens, now it's starting to show up on my passenger side lens. It's very minimal but at the right angle and lighting it becomes quite visible.

Anyone know what this could be? I have the 7 year 100K bumper to bumper warranty so I know they'd be covered but just curious as to what it is in the first place and if there's a way to prevent it if they get me new housings.......

I'll get pics if you want but Im not sure just how well it would show up......

Toothpaste? You probably read Hailey's Hints huh?

I learned that toothpaste actually cleans a lot of stuff. Just off the top of my head, I think brass & tile grout.

You can use microfiber for glass and Mr Clean Magic Eraser in oxidized clear plastics. For best result follow-up with plastic gloss or similar surface protectant.

It has also happened on my '05. I'm sure there are lots of suggestions for remedying, but I'd avoid anything abrasive, such as toothpaste. As for the warranty, I haven't read of any claims being made on the housings.

The best solution is to polish them with Meguiars PastX, and put Lamin-x or 3M scotchguard protection on top.

My reading summarizes that the UV protection coating wears down after about 2-3 years. If we are going to magnify the lens surface, then we can see how bad..Its already there..I have used different plastic cleaners, polish and toothpaste and no matter what it is I have to do it every 3 months because the discoloration will appear again.

Same thing on my 06. Couldn't believe it but same deal. Starts out on top and works its way down. I noticed mine getting more and more of it. I have over the past couple months on a monthly basis using the meguiars plastic cleaner to remove it. Basically I noticed that every morning there's a light mist or sometimes heavy amount of moisture on top of lens. I figure that by the time mid morning comes through that moisture dries up and stays there (like water spots from your drink on furniture). Day after day it builds up and you get that nasty stuff. If you notice you can kind of see a path of the stuff discoloring your lens as it works its way downward. Anyways best thing to do is use the meguiars stuff to take some of it off but not all will come off. Use it regularly and in the mornings wipe off excess moisture on your lens so the sun doesn't get the chance to dry it. It's what I've been doing and it helps a little. One more thing be carefull what type of cloth you use because you can scratch up the lens bad.

If the lens design didn't have such a bubble on top, it wouldn't be as bad to maintain in my opinion. Same deal happened to my buddies ridgeline but his was much easier to come off because ridgeline lens design is flush and straight.

Definetly an awesome site to get the info you need. Worth every minute of time you spend on it. On another note. In time the oxidation and discoloration will be too much to overcome. When you start getting moisture on the inside of the lens then there's not much you can do after that. I hear that not washing on a hot day in a car wash station helps too. Moisture can build up inside housing like steam when cold water hits your hot lens. That's why if you are going to use a car wash station go when it's not blazing sunny and hot.

For moisture in the headlight..
Remove the bulb and use a Hair Dryer set to warm...:lmao:

you can laugh about the toothpaste and now the hair dryer..but it works for me..LOL!
