06 Jbl in 04 with Base model radio

I have a 2004 4Runner Sport Edition with the base model, single CD player. I found an '06 JBL changer with satellite controls that I want to put in the 2004. The guy at the local dealership said it won't work because the wiring harnesses are different. Does anyone have experience or know where an adapter can be found?

In this case, the dealership is completely right. The JBL radios use an externally mounted AMP, while the base radios have the AMP built into them. The speakers then run their wiring from the externally mounted AMP. Because of that, they use different wiring harnesses. Because of that, they use different wiring harnesses.

It wouldn't be cost effective to switch. Look at getting a SCION radio. They plug into the harness your stock radio uses. I'm not sure if satellite is available on the SCIONs, but maybe one of the other members can assist.
