06 Limited Audio question

Hey guys,
About ready to sell my 99' Limited with 236k miles and buy an 06. Its a Limited but does have the JBL audio package. My question is, is the Limited pre-wired for a sub? Is the regular speaker package pretty much garbage? When I test drove it, it was real bassy, not tight and crisp like I would like.

Any other audio tips I should keep in mind?

Oh, also do the 06's have 6x9's in the front?

The JBL system has a small, IIRC 8", sub in the cargo area.

My '04 Limited has an 8" sub in the back, amplified by the stock amp. If you wanted to upgrade to an aftermarket sub, you would need to get at least an aftermarket amp and line output converter. I'm somewhat of an audiophile, but money doesn't grow on trees, so I've replaced only the stock 6 disk in dash CD player so far. It can be done, with the right parts. Sounds like the settings may be set incorrectly. I believe the stock fronts are "6x9's". You could put a plate in to do a 6.5. If you wanted to do more than replace the CD player, you would have to gut the audio system and replace all speakers, run new speaker wire, and replace the amplifier(s). Hope it helps.

I personally love the JBL System as-is. I think it sounds better than the 13-speaker Bose system I had in my 2007 G35 Sport, good punchy bass, but not overpowering, I keep the bass setting on "0" most of the time and I'm very content with it.
