06 sport bars on/off

I've took my bars off about a year and a half ago , my neighbor comes over and says I should put them back on , it looks better he told me and hides the fuel tank hanging down . I know they are nice looking bars and visually make the truck look higher , better off road that they don't get caught on stuff , but these trucks are low enough that they are not needed , they collect dirt , snow and mud , maybe offer some slight protection , but I can see his point about seeing the fuel tank.

Your thoughts ???? Anyone put theirs back on ???

I kept mine on since delivery day. They compliment the roof racks and everyone compliments on their look. They are much easier to keep clean than the plastic running boards of the SR5 and LTD. Water just rolls of and does not collect. With my SR5 it's a PITA to clean around those squares on the plastic boards. With the tubes, one wipe and I'm done. Granted they make that hollow metal sound when running through deep rain puddles. They seem more solid than the rubbermaid boards. I like the graphite color too. Compliments the shadow mica paint on my SE. Visually nice and functional, but more importantly strong and durable. Hides the tank and the xreas lines a bit. In the end though, Falls, it's your truck. Do what makes you happy. Since they're off anyway, why not weld some nice sliders on instead?
