06 Sport Brake Squeeeaaaking

I have a 2006 Sport and each time the brakes are applied they squeak as if the pads are worn down. It only has 5000 miles and they do it whether it has been sitting for a day, or if it has been driven all day. We brought it in and they said nothing is wrong. They said it is rust on the rotors from sitting, but they do it all the time. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with mine in the driver rear. It squeaks though whether the brakes are applied or not. Gonna have to get it in because it annoys the hell out of me.

Time to bring it to another dealer... It's all covered under warranty...

I have had rust on my rotors before from water after washing and it sitting but I never had any squeaking. You may have glazed the pads somehow. You could also try driving in reverse and hitting the brakes a few times and see if that helps. Oh, also try some Brake cleaner maybe. Otherwise bitch to the dealership until they fix it!

This issue has been on here before, just last month... Mine are doing the same thing. 17,000 miles on an 05 V8sport... I cannot figure it out, wrenches at the dealer said brakes were fine, it only squeaks when I am lightly applying the brake... I have no answer, but take a wrench out with you the next time at the dealer and replicate the noise with them in the car with you...

I have the same thing happening on mine with less than 10,000 miles on it. :bash:

It is very annoying and I plan on taking care of it soon.

And it also only happens when I hit the brakes lightly or while turning.

Mine only do it when its wet , but after I jam them hard its gone.

The brake squeaking has been a regular occurence this time of year in my 04 Runner and now 05 exhibits a similar squeak. I had taken my 04 to the dealer and they serviced the brakes, and the noise disappeared until the same time next year. Might be something to do with a damp, cold environment?

I will be back to the dealer again for the free service.

I noticed some squeaking in mine this morning when I was pulling out of the garage. But it only happened when I applied the brakes. I am chalking it up to rust on the rotors from last nights snow fall. My parents Santa Fe has a squeaking/grinding sound all the time and no dealer can find anything wrong. Hopefully the Runners are going to have the same type of problem.
