I just picked up an 06 Sport 4x4 with factory navigation and I can't seem to get the voice command function to work. When I push the speech command switch on the steering wheel, after getting a message on the screen that says "Please say the command after BEEP," I get a message that says "Voice Recognition Canceled" and a little message flashes across the top of the box that says "The system cannot detect voice." However, when using the bluetooth phone setup, I can give it commands, so it seems the microphone works.
I did get a new DVD off of eBay that has the latest maps and have loaded that, but did not do the install where you take out the fuse first. Right now, I have the newer maps working, but still have the override capability for programming while in motion, and I'm afraid I'll lose the latter if I do the power-down upgrade of the DVD. Could that be the problem, or is there a configuration menu that I have yet to find that has some setting I need to change to allow the voice recognition?
My apologies if this has been addressed before. I tried a forum search and nothing popped up.
