06 Sport Transmission Question

Anyone know of a good place to get a new transmission?

My issue is that my transmission is clunking into gear from a stop going forward. I was harsh to her when I was younger (rocking back and forth to get out of holes) so I am not surprised this is happening. My next step is to find a suitable replacement/fix.

Advise is welcome from the seasoned crowd.

By the way, its a 4.7L V8 SE if you wish to know.

Are you absolutely sure it's the transmission? It would be a shame to pull the trigger on that one only to find out afterwards that it was just a lack of driveshaft grease.

Yeah, that sounds like it just needs some driveshaft grease. Use moly grease on the slip yokes if you want a long-lasting fix, but it's best not to use it on the universal joints. Non-moly grease will work for both, but you'll have to do it more often.

It could also be a worn/ broken mount, like and engine mount or similar mount for other parts (do the transmission, transfer case, and differentials also have rubber mounts?)

Are there any other problems besides the clunk?

This issue seems to happen around 1-2 gear. Slowing down before I stop i get the clunk. No other issues besides replacing a wheel bearing. I just replaced all four brakes/rotors/calipers, both CV's, new water pump and timing belt and a trans flush. SOooo, nothing else is wrong sounding or feeling but, i didnt notice anything broken when i was applying the POR-15

Lube your driveshaft really good before deciding it's something else. Lithium for the u-joints and moly for the slip yolk is what is recommended. Also check for play in your u-joints.
