06 Stereo in 05 Runner?

Just checking to see if anyone has tried replacing the 05 stock stereo with a 06. I really want the factory ipod connector in my console. If so, did you do it yourself or go to the dealer.

I currently have an itrip FM Transmitter, but was looking for better sound quality along with steering wheel control.

I read the old threads, but those seem to focus on nav ready systems. Thanks in advance....

Do a search for the member UOD. He just went to a 2006 headunit and is selling his 2005 unit.

I just swapped out my 04 HU for a new 06 HU. I wanted to get MP3 and WMA ability plus keep the orange lights consistent, which is why I didn't go w/ a Pioneer HU.

I bought the 06 HU on Ebay, am selling my old one there as well.
