07/08 & consumer reports

April 2010 Consumer Reports mentions that the 07/08 4runner's had issues with the audio systems. Of coarse this is from a survey from 4runner owners.
I am thinking of purchasing an 07/08 (if I can find one)....

Can I get some feedback from owners & what problems they incurred with the audio system

The 2008 Urban Runner TomTom Toyota (Eclipse) head units came from the factory with corrupted software. Everyone I know with the model had this problem, but it was corrected with a new software update on a replacement SD card. I'm not aware of other issues...

Toyota had a big problem with radios in 09-10 Corolla, 08-09 Sequoia, 09-10 Tacoma, and 07-10 Tundra. They'd do funky things like turn on/off by themselves, scramble the display, or else the knobs on the front would stop working even though the steering wheel control still worked.

That problem didn't hit 4Runner, though.

I've owened an 07 sport for 2 weeks with no problem on a jbl unit. I have read about problems caused by heat from the vents or from the sun on the dash for extended periods of time.
