07 4Runner, Pioneer Install Questions

I have a 2007 V6 4Runner, base system is non-JBL. I am looking at swapping out the base system, and installing a Pioneer AVIC-X930BT double-din setup. Does anybody have any experience/insight to share in:

(A) Installing a Pioneer setup into the 4th Gen 4Runner in general?

(B) Do I need a specialized harness for the setup (ie.. tyto-01 wire harness), or is that only specific to the JBL setup, and the non-JBL system has just a few wires to contend with by hand?

(C) Which trim package, if any, would be recommended (I have heard that the Urban runner trim might work well, or the general metra 95-8202)?

(D) Can the base speakers handle the 50W output from the new receiver, or should I look for a new amplifier / speaker package as well?

the metrakit will work fine, the harness you use for the non jbl system is the standar metra 70-1761 the 50 watt output from the 930 is the peak output rms is more like 20 your stock speakers will handle it just fine. of course if you replace ryour speakers and add an amp it will sound even better. if you have them the steering wheel controll interface is a pac audio swips. it is a simple install and works great you should also check out avic411.com there youll find instrucions to bypass the motion imobilizer so you can watch dvds and program the nav while in motion. that is the same unit we have in my wifes car youll love it.

If the 4th gen 4Runner is similar to the 3rd gen, there should be an OEM amplifier behind the radio that I also need to remove, and either insert a new amplifier or just have the H/U power the speakers. From what you mentioned, the 930 should do just fine driving it without an intermediary amplifier, but let me know if you had any issues...

nope on the 4th gen there is no amp unless you get jbl
