07 JBL into 05 JBL

I read over the forum and stumbled across a post saying that you can run the 07 JBL Hu with the Aux Input/ Built in MP3/ and XM in the older models as long as you have the jbl system.

Is this true?

Will it be a standard plug and play?

Has anyone else done this?

I have swapped my 05 jbl for an 07 jbl. It is plug and play. I even installed the toyota factory xm radio. everything works great except the aux in. I still have not figured out how to wire in the aux in. I think the 06+ have the aux in wired into the harness. Other than that, it works great.

Where did you get the factory xm radio?

how much did it run ya? So where does the aux in actually come in at? any pics of the wiring, Ive been doing stereo installations for years so making my own harness wouldnt be a problem

i got my xm from toyota parts. they were having a 20% off sale.

i'm not sure where the aux goes in. that's the catch. i would need to look at an 06+ harness to find out. the aux-in plug is in the center console on those models.

so the input is there you just need a aux input jack to hook it up to?

no, not in the 05s. They could be there, but i have yet to find a write up of which wires, if they exist.

the input has to go into the radio itself somewhere, is it in with the harness for the console?

Anybody have a good idea on where to find the 07 head unit? there is one on ebay for 100 bucks, but it has some minor scratches on it.

Any 07 guys here who went with aftermarket?
