'07 SR5 V8 - Gas Ideas?

Any ideas how I could improve the gas milage on the thing? Don't really want to sell it for something else.

Currently looking at the K&N 63-9029 Air Charger as a start. Worth it? Thoughts on other things to try?

I bought the Volant and Magnaflow. I gained about 1mpg city. However the price of that stuff vs the mileage you get isn't really worth it. I bought the stuff for a bunch of reasons; mileage gain, TQ/HP gain, the rerouting of the exhaust, etc.

So the MPG difference wasn't much... what about the HP?

How much did the Volant claim (HP)? Looked on their website but couldn't find it...

Typically if you were to install a power-adder, it would hurt your mpg's. People like hearing the sound of the intake or exhaust so they end up using more gas. I know when i put a Volant and Flowmaster 50 series in my titan, i lost atleast 3-4 mpgs and my right foot became heavier!

To improve mpg's, start by making sure your tire pressure is good. Then work your way through the process: check your spark plugs, your filter, efi, etc.

The best way to improve your mpg's is to improve your driving habits. The lighter your right foot, the better your gas mileage is gonna be. Good luck.

My butt dyno says it made a difference with the combo.

I think Volant claims 12 or 15 hp...it is on their site somewhere. Some people on here will say it makes a negative effect but there are dyno charts that prove otherwise.

A lot of people also confuse sound with HP, much like Harley Riders, you know the louder it is the faster it is.

I agree with Casper also, you may loose mpg because you like to hear the added sound from the mods.

You should really modify your driving habits, keep the truck properly maintained, etc. to get the best mpg you can.

I have a 2008 Suzuki DR650 that im just waiting to pull out of storage. Cant wait to get a 200 mile range for only $15!!

I cant wait to see the price of gas on the lake this year! Last summer it was $5.35/gal, im guessing in the $6 range!

I got you beat!!

My Aprilia SR50 goes 1mph for every cc it has, plus I get over 100 miles to the gallon! I use it to go back and forth to work, no sense in letting the truck or bike not even get warmed up. I only work 2-5 miles from home.
