'08 4Runner check engine/vsc/traction control lights

Hey guys, been lurking here for a while but this is my first post. I did a brief search on the issue, found a few possible solutions but I want to get some more opinions. Anyways, noticed all 3 lights on when I went to go home today(vsc light is blinking). I found that odd because my 4Runner was in 2wd. Turned the vehicle off/on, nothing changed, played with the buttons(vsc/traction, etc.) no changes. Put the vehicle in 4wd to see if the controls were actually off and it wasn't just a fuse or something and sure enough no traction control, etc. It was cold here today (-35-ish Celsius) could something have frozen open/shut on me? From searching I've seen to check my gas cap or maybe unplug the battery for 10 mins or so and see if that helps but it's cold as piss out so I'm not a huge fan of either :D . Any suggestions before I take it to the stealership so I don't let them rape me?? Thanks.

When the check engine light comes on, the other lights come on. It is most likely emissions related. From something simple like you did not tighten you gas cap to a O2 sensor. I would say, see if the gas cap is tight, if it is, time to go to the dealer and let them fix it.

By the way, I feel it would be safe to drive until you get it fixed.

This has come up before... You aren't the first to tie very cold temps to the lights. It seems like the system is more prone to act up in extremely cold temps.

:iagree: with Peter, check the cap and then take it in. It's an '08, any repairs should be free.
