08' 4Runner: Leaky windshield wiper fluid hose

I need your help. I have noticed that my 08 4 runner's stream of windshield wiper fluid became weaker and weaker and it finally stopped working even if I added more water to the reservoir. I found a hole on the hose leading to the hood on the passenger side where all the fluid was leaking, so I took my car into Puente Hills Toyota, City of Industry, CA and they said a mouse chew thru it and warranty does not cover it. They quote d me $60 to "repair" it. First of all, how can they prove that it is a mouse not a faulty hose? And second, this 4 runner is my third Toyota (Previously, MR2 and Camry), and Toyota dealership was never helpful when it came to warranty services which I paid for when I bought the car. Any suggestions? I am sure I can repair the hose but I am disappointed in Puente hills' Toyota dealership. Thanks, and happy new year.

Take it to another dealership or ask to speak with the service department manager. I talk to the sales rep, if you took it to the selling dealer for service, to see if the sales rep can get some pull--it worked for me because I bought two Toyotas from him within 6 months.

If all else fails, call Toyota's customer experience line, 800-331-4331. Here's the email page. Be firm, but kind and let them know that a $60 part on a one year old vehicle is going to lead you to heavy reconsideration for your future vehicles and recommendation of the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brand to others.

I agree with Uneek...see what corp will do. (Note though, if a mouse did chew through it...the dealer technically isn't responsible.) If you are so inclined to repair stuff yourself, you can go to just about any auto parts store and pick up the vacuum hose tubing for about 5 bucks you should be good to go. I have found that for stuff like this, it is usually much easier to fix it yourself than to bother with all the time it takes working with toyo. Of course I don
