08 SR5 4 Runner headache

Hello All,

I had a small problem who's becoming impossible to solve. I currently have a 08 4Runner SR5 ..color code 1D4 / Trim FA12.

I dropped my GPS on the center console and chipped the paint.I went to Toyota Body shop, which only offered me to replace the whole thing. Tried to find the color code for the console online, nothing. Auto shop offered me some touch-up, but it's not matching the color (type of metallic gray)...

As anyone went through this.Any idea what is the color for the console, and where I could go to buy something to fix it???

Any help would be greatly appreciate...

Yes id like to know also b/c the hack/jackass at toyota installing my rear video dvd players in the headrest also chipped mine.

Sorry, but this will be a tough one.
I tried to find this a few years ago when I was making a custom GPS mount. I wanted to match the paint and tried every source I could think. Gave up and went with black. The only thing I didn't try was taking the console piece into a paint supply shop to computer colour match.
Good luck and let us know if you find it.

Dont worry about the color, it is the only thing in the interior that is that color. Take it off which is very easy to do, sand, prime and paint it whatever color your heart desires.

No it's not the only thing. That's the problem!

This is one of my old school secrets. I took a few painted chips to Lowe's. You can take it to Home Depot or Wally Mart and they'll match the color. Just tell them it came off the wall and not your 4Runner. hehehe..... :wink2:

If and when you figure out what color you need from the peeps at Lowes would you mind posting it here? I have a few little chips on my console too, and it doesn't bug me enough to want to replace the plastic, but it would be nice to cover them up if possible.
