I just moved from Seattle where my local station was $3.59 to Sedona where it is $2.85; which is high for the state of AZ. Would be nice to see it under $2 everywhere!
 
Still $4 in the heart of DC. In the South prices have dropped on average about 30%.

I have friends in the energy sector. It could be a lean Xmas for some of them. No GI Joe with the kung fu grip for the little lads.

Expect the price to keep dropping through New Years.
 
Well hell, I never though I'd see it drop below $2 anywhere in the US... I stand corrected, by 1/10th the value of little Lincoln, but corrected none the less.
 
2.59 here. I have a friend that hauls fuel and says his company isn't expecting prices to rise anytime soon. It's under $2 in MS where another friend of mine lives. Keep on dropping I say. :hat:
 
$2.69 here in SoCal at Arco. I hear the Saudis cut the price to screw the Ruskis and the Iranians. Also to discourage us from developing our own resources. Keep it cheaper to buy from them. Read it in the Times so who knows...
 
NJ is getting into the low $2 range lately. I live in NY, but only 3 miles from the NJ border, so cheaper gas is just down the road. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it will certainly be on its way up again.
 
Two factors I have heard that have caused gas prices to drop: the US finally allowing crude oil exports at the beginning of this year, thus increasing worldwide supply. And the bigger one is the decrease in oil demand by three of the four BRIC countries (Russia excluded) in the last six months. Japan has just slipped back into recession so their overall demand for oil has dropped.

What OPEC really fears, as a buddy told me earlier this year, is this gaining real traction to serve as the fuel for the future:

$2.34 here, it's been dropping steady for the past 4 weeks or so. Roughly 1-2 cents every 3-5 days.
 
Am I right? I heard OPEC is going to sue America for the recent plunge in oil prices. Something about how it's hurting the world market, lol......they are butt hurt because they relied on U.S. Consumption so much.

There is a gas station is Rosslyn that had for 2.60 today. All the ones by me (Clarendon) are like 2.70 ish.

The Exxon right outside of Georgetown is now $3.45, which is the first time I have seen it that low since 2009.

A co-worker lives outside the city; when I get out to see him I try and stop by the Anderson Sunoco on Lee Hwy; my Toyotas seem to like it the best of any gasoline I use.

OPEC may make moves, they may sit on their laurels, but suing the US isn't one of them.

Iran needs oil to be over $110 a barrel to balance their budget. I guess their economists and their pro forma forecasts didn't see this drop coming. I believe Venezuela needs it to be even higher.

Believe it or not, low gas prices aren't good for everyone. You might feel good paying low prices at the pump, but the local economies in places like Texas, for example, will suffer for sure.
 
The funny part is, if gas had doubled everybody would blame Obama. But since gas has dropped around 50%, nobody will thank Obama and will find every other reason why it has dropped.:faint:
 
Prices haven't dropped all that much or even for all that long and already the attention has shifted back to big SUV's for grocery shopping.

Why doesn't this country like wagons or diesel's?!

Just curious, but how did he make the price drop? If he has had that power, then why wait till now to employ it?

As Hepar pointed out, there is now a love for the real SUV again.
