1 more FJ, toytec swap complete

Finally got around to ripping out the Xreas and installing FJ bilsteins, front coils, Toytec spacer and new BFG ATs 265/70/17. It wasn't too hard with basic tools and knowledge learned from here. Took about 5 hours start to finish on my own. Would have been less time had the rear upper shock bolts not been rusted solid. Had to cut them out with a sawzall.

Overall very pleased with the look and handling. Definately firmer but still smooth. Netted about 1.25" of lift on the front. Rear still sits about an inch higher but the running boards are perfectly level.

Heres a trick that we used when putting decals on boats. Clean the area really well and then keep it a little wet. Pull back the first layer of the sticker and stick the sticker on. Having the surface a little wet will allow you to put the sticker EXACTLY how you want it and as straight as you want it. Then you can either just let it dry or take a blow dryer to it and dry it until its 100% dry. Then pull back the last bit and the sticker will be on!

You are correct, never jack a vehicle on an unlevel surface, but it's actually a fairly level driveway, put the wood under the jacks to protect the driveway. The rear needed a couple extra boards because the jacks were smaller and didn't extend as high. I figured I would put the bigger jacks under the front where the weight is.

No rub with the BFG's? I ran them for like 4 months before I discovered mine were rubbing a bit on the UCA's. Picked up some 1.25" spacers to address the problem.

Haven't noticed any rubbing since the lift but I'll keep an eye on it. Spidertrax are on the list of to dos.

Very nice! This is how all 4runners should come from the factory. BFG's and all. Can't wait to do mine. FJ springs on the way. Too bad the Bilsteins are on backorder.

How did I ever miss this thread?? After years of indecisiveness on how to get rid of the front rake/liuft I finally found the perfect setup!

All I need to do now is get some FJ springs/shocks (and/or Bilsteins) and Toytec spacers...

I'm hoping the towing will be better. Stiffer springs and I can air up the BFGs more. I'll have to wait til spring to try it out though, trailers already packed away :cry2:

For Darkside.... there are a lot of posts on these forums for this lift option, many have done it. I do have another set of front FJ springs and all 4 Tokico shocks if you're interested.

How to get rid of flashing off light from defective Air suspension

Hi guys, just thought I'd ask this silly question that I've been trying to find an answer to. I have an 03 Limited with xreas and Air suspension. The AS is $#& kaput!! and ive been driving with a flashing off button on the dash for a few months now.. I'm intending to do the Fj springs and shocks swap all around. My question is how do I deal with the flashing off light for the AS on the display ??

Yes, rear air is untouched, just ripped out all the Xreas shocks and replaced them with FJ Bilsteins and new front coils.

Flipcanuck, just moved to a small town north of London Ontario. I have another FJ setup in my garage and a hood visor if your interested and nearby...real cheap, just want to get rid of. As for your air problem, is it the bags or the sensors that are faulty? Quite often it's just the level sensors that go bad. Still an expensive fix from what I hear. I think the only solution is to get it fixed with factory parts or swap out for rear coils but that's a whole other fab job to make it work.

True but I wanted to see a before/after set of pics with Fj springs and Toytec 1/2" spacer with 265/70/17 and Limited wheels.
