'10-'13 Trails - Are They Worth More

I bought my 2012 TE because I liked the look more than the SR5/Limited and more than the 2014+. I also looked for the Shoreline Blue color because I wanted one different from the rest. I got mine in August and got a pretty good deal on it, especially since it only had 58k miles on it at the time.

You can add heated seats. There are waterproof heated seat inserts too. Some dealers do heated seat installs as well as various custom shops.

Yeah, I'll probably do that in the fall, along with a remote start.

Avoid the factory remote start. We have it. Wife had to have it. Never use it. The range is very short.

I ask because I'd seen it pop up a few places and next year we may look to trade my 2013 Trail in for a used Land Cruiser or LX570. I've been having some issues with the tires getting chewed up that multiple alignments and UCAs can't seem to fix. For just a little more than replacing the Icons with Kings, and hoping that does it, we can get the LC. I think in CO the V8 would be pretty nice and the bigger more plush car should be a lot more comfortable for road trips especially since I won't mod it beyond tires and a hardshell RTT.

Hopefully I can track down the source of my tire death and it really might be that they're already cupped so it's just never going to get better until I replace them but either way I'll still be in the Toyota family.

When I was looking for a 5th gen 4runner, I specifically sought out a 10-13 trail. I can tell you from experience that they are really hard to find, especially on the West Coast. The scarcity definitely adds to their value, but only to the right person. And I don't mean that someone would pay more for a 13 than a 14, but if the right one comes up for sale, the person looking for it will probably jump all over it, as opposed to the 14-18s, where there's dozens available and you can pick and choose.

I see you used to have a GX. What are your thoughts on going from that the the 4Runner? I'm also leaning towards going that route over the LC but can't decide.
